Johannesburg boasts the only remaining Gas Utility with a pipe network of natural gas in South Africa. A fascinating gas footprint which spans the old city – enabling about 35,000 gas fired apparatus through approximately 7500 points of supply for Domestic, Commercial and Industrial use. MUS was proud to be the preferred data harvester for Egoli Gas and held an 8-year medium-term contract with the company due to a proven track record and an innovative service offering. Our Service Level Agreement -based the allowed margin of error on a footprint of almost 8000 meters on a mere 10 (ten meters) – we consistently came in well below that.
After an absence of 5 years, we are thrilled to have been re-appointed as a service provider to this world class private gas utility again. Egoli Gas drives a dynamic process of improving customer services and upgrading its network. We are proud to be part of that journey with our service offering to them. Our team also assisted Egoli Gas to manage a team of professional engineering students to complete a Gas Appliance survey on their Domestic Supply Network.
We have been the preferred supplier of conventional meter reading and provide a full administration service on these meters since 2010.
We installed smart check meters to monitor Municipal readings and charges on 80% of their buildings. We provided the Smart Meter Reading Services since 2016.
Since 2018 we have also become their preferred Renewable Energy Service Provider. We initially provided Grid Tied solutions only, However the current climate of load shedding demands hybrid solar solutions. We are currently busy with 10 projects that will see essential services like lights, access control and at least one lift run in the larger buildings to ensure comfort and security for tenants.

We have been providing conventional meter reading and prepaid services in both Gauteng and the Western Cape for Vodacom since 2010.

The principles in our organization were responsible for winning 3 Smart Meter Contracts with as many Utilities:
City Power in 2006 – Serving half of their Large Power Users until our contract matured.
Randwest Municipality (formerly Randfontein Municipality) 2006 – Check Meters on all main Eskom Incomers to ensure equitable charges.
Kgatelopele Local Municipality Providing Smart Metering on all Large Power Users. Prepaid Audit on all Prepaid Users. We have held the contract since 2015.
